Evidence index

The evidence index keeps itself up to date while the file is built.

Each retained document gets its number. When a document is withdrawn, the evidence index (bordereau de communication de pièces) renumbers itself. You export it as a PDF when the file is ready.

An index numbered by hand has to be redone whenever a document is added or withdrawn, with a risk of error in every version.

Prismo Cabinet keeps the evidence index up to date automatically, from the documents you have retained.

  • Automatic numbering

Each retained document takes its place and its number.

  • Error-free renumbering

Set a document aside and the list puts itself back in order; references in the timeline follow.

  • Every document with its source

The extract and the full source stay linked, in case the context is requested.

How it works

  1. 1

    Retain

You set a document’s status to “retained”: it takes its place in the index.

  2. 2

    Adjust

Order, title, date: you change what needs changing, and the numbering follows.

  3. 3

    Export

The index as a PDF, ready to attach.

Good to know

This information concerns French law.

Under French civil procedure, the index (bordereau) lists the documents a party intends to rely on. They must be disclosed to the other party of its own accord and in good time (Articles 15 and 132 of the French Code of Civil Procedure, CPC).

Before disclosure, the numbering can change freely. Once the documents have been disclosed, their numbers serve as references in the pleadings and must no longer change.

Choosing which documents to produce is the lawyer’s decision. Prismo Cabinet never retains or sets aside a document on its own.

General information about French law. · Prismo does not give legal advice: it prepares your lawyer's work and never replaces it.
